A dynamic hydrostatic-pressure environment plays an important role in chondrocyte culture. When tissue-engineering methods combine chondrocytes with biodegradable materials to construct tissue-engineered cartilage, static culture is usually used. This makes cartilage tissue constructed in vitro prone to defects such as hollow regions, and its mechanical properties differ greatly from those of normal cartilage, preventing it from meeting clinical transplantation requirements. Currently reported hydrostatic-pressure environments are not enclosed and have difficulty creating a dynamic hydrostatic-pressure culture environment, resulting in restricted culture duration and many other shortcomings.Tissue-Engineered Cartilage BioreactorIt simulates the in vivo dynamic hydrostatic-pressure mechanical environment of cartilage.
