  Quantitative corneal transparency meteris medical equipment specifically designed to measure corneal transparency. It works on optical principles. A parallel light beam is directed at the cornea, and the ratio of incident radiant flux to transmitted radiant flux after passing through it is measured as transparency T. Under the Lamber-beer law, light attenuates as it travels through a medium, so corneal transparency can be calculated by measuring transmitted-light intensity.

  I. Protecting Optical Components
  Cleaning Lenses and Filters
  Before and after use, wipe components with a professional cleaning solution or a clean, soft cloth. Avoid rough cloth and chemical solvents such as ethanol or acetone that may scratch or corrode lenses.
  For light oil or fingerprints, gently lift the contamination with lens tissue without applying pressure. Severe marks should be cleaned by a professional using acetone or alcohol.
  Do not touch or wipe coated components, as this may damage the coating.
  Preventing Optical-Window Contamination
  Prevent solution from splashing into the sample holder or chamber during testing, and do not leave cuvettes containing test solution in the chamber for extended periods.
  Clean cuvettes promptly after use so residual sample or wash solution does not adhere to the optical windows and affect matching performance.
  II. Environmental Control
  Dust and Moisture Protection
  Cover the instrument with a dust cover when not in use. A desiccant sachet may be placed in the sample chamber for moisture control, but must be removed before power-up.
  Do not expose the instrument to high or low temperatures or intense light. Store it in a dry, ventilated environment free of corrosive gases.
  Temperature and Humidity Management
  The instrument warehouse or storage room should be fire-resistant and equipped with fire-suppression equipment, such as a liquid carbon-dioxide extinguisher. Do not use acid–alkali extinguishers.
  Keep warehouse temperature stable. Avoid prolonged storage in an air-conditioned room, where moisture absorption can occur; an ordinary room-temperature environment is sufficient.
  III. Operating Procedures
  Handle with Care
  Handle the instrument and optical components gently and avoid impact or vibration. After use, return them to their case or cover them to prevent dust contamination.
  Store unused optical components in a desiccator at their designated location to prevent moisture and mold.
  Avoid Direct Contact
  Never touch an optical surface by hand. If a component must be handled directly, touch only its edge or ground surface, such as a lens edge or the top and bottom faces of a prism.
  Power On Regularly
  If the instrument will be unused for a long period, power it on 1-2 times each week for approximately half an hour to prevent moisture damage to internal components.
  IV. Regular Maintenance and Calibration
  Routine Inspection
  After each use, check the sample chamber for spilled solution and wipe it promptly to prevent waste liquid from corroding components or optics.
  Check that the housing, power cable and data cables are intact and that all knobs and indicator lights operate normally.
  Periodic Calibration
  Calibrate according to the manufacturer’s guide or manual, using a standard model eye or calibration tool to ensure accuracy.
  Record the results and generate a report after calibration, including the date, operator and calibration results.
  Professional Servicing
  Have a qualified professional inspect the instrument regularly, including removal of internal dust, replacement of wear parts and performance optimization.
  If the instrument fails, do not disassemble it in the field or in a tunnel. Return it indoors for repair by a qualified professional.
